The Masters women are a group of experienced rowers, but life and personal commitments mean we don't have as much time as we used to for training. After years of early mornings we also like our lie-ins, so tend to go out around 9.30am or 10am on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Very importantly, we always try to time outings so that we can go for breakfast afterwards. Boat combinations are based on availability each week, but we usually manage a quad and/or double. Outings and training are generally quite relaxed. Depending what races are coming up we happily switch into an eight and swap two sticks for one.

In this last season, the squad has competed in the Veteran Fours, Eights and Pairs Head of the River Race. The Dewar Shield eight again beat their opposition from Furnivall and AK demonstrating speed from technical ability, if not relentless training. A trip to the Voga Longa in Venice went so well that another is planned for this year. Click in the button below to get in touch and find out about joining us.
